Hyderabad: In a small village near Vijayawada, a dream began to take shape in 2007. What started as a humble family business with a mere investment of Rs1 lakh has blossomed into Tanvi Foods Pvt Ltd, a prominent player in the frozen food industry. The company, founded by the visionary couple Adusumilli Nagveer and his wife, has not only found a loyal market in India, but has also captivated the Indian diaspora across the globe.

Tanvi Foods, known for its delectable range of frozen snacks and traditional regional foods, quickly gained popularity for its high-quality samosas, rolls, and pickles, which became favorites among people from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The company began with just two employees, but now boasts a team of 400, with a workforce that includes 200 women, empowering them to handcraft the products at the company’s 3-acre facility in Seetharampuram, near Vijayawada. The human touch is key to Tanvi Foods’ success, adding a personal charm to each item they produce.

The company’s frozen snacks, such as Corn Samosas, Irani Samosas, Panner Samosas, and Shanghai Rolls, have become household staples in countries like the USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, and Australia, especially among Indian community. Tanvi Foods’ unique approach to packaging-flash-freezing their pickles at -20°C to maintain their freshness-has set them apart in an ever-growing market. Despite being a leader in their field, Tanvi Foods has chosen to shun automation, opting instead to keep the production process human-driven, believing this approach ensures the highest quality and authenticity.

Tanvi Foods is not just a business; it’s a lifeline for many. By focusing on local farmers for their ingredients and prioritizing women’s empowerment in their workforce, the company has made a significant impact both in India and internationally. Tanvi Foods has set its sights on further expansion, continuing to innovate in the frozen food market, while staying true to their roots of quality and community.

The company’s next phase of growth includes recruiting an additional 100 women to meet the increasing demand from the domestic and international markets. Their logistics network, featuring 27 trucks (including 19 frozen trucks) and 500 stores served weekly, ensures Tanvi Foods’ products reach shelves across multiple continents.

As Tanvi Foods continues to evolve, it remains a shining example of how passion, quality, and a commitment to community can propel a small family business into the global spotlight.

“The formula for our corn samosas and another snack roll is our secret ingredient to success. Our products became popular as we produce the wholesome, great tasting frozen snacks,” says Srinivas Reddy, company’s Marketing Head.

Reddy further added that “we not only have the fastest growing portfolio of frozen snacks, but also with wide range of ready to cook and eat frozen foods. We offer greater transparency into everything we do.”
